I have started to piece the english paper piecing using silk thread, and I notice my stitches less.
This is made with 1" hexagons, sitting on a 10" square:
The greens go darker as the flower gets larger. Batik fabrics work very nicely for hand sewing these hexagons together.
More 1" hexagons, again on a 10" background square:
A comparison of the 1" hexagons with some smaller 5/8" and 1/2" (4/8") hexagons which I just completed. The smaller hexagons are more difficult to piece together because of their size.
Again, this is on a 10" background square, so you get an idea of the size. The small yellow flower is 2 5/8" across it's widest point.
