Quiltville Mystery Good Fortune - Week 2

I have finally started working on the 2018 mystery quilt from Quiltville  by Bonnie K Hunter Good Fortune Mystery.

The second week is to make some blue triangle blocks. I've, started, but not made nearly enough.

I'm trying Bonnie's method of using 10" squares and Antler Quilt Design's Mini Folded Corner Ruler to make these half square triangles.  It's allowing me to use up some blue batik 10" squares I had laying around.

Slow Stitching #59

I've been making hexagon flowers for a couple of years, in all sorts of sizes.  Recently the the Kingfisher Stitch-Along started up, using 1" hexagon flowers and appliqueing them on 6" finished 60 degree diamonds. I bumped up my blocks to 7" finished diamonds, so I can use my 1", 1 1/8", and 1 1/4" hexagon flowers.  Also trying combinations of my smaller hexi flowers, here are the 5/8" hexi's in a group of 4:

Here is a small layout on my cutting table seeing how the hexi's will show up against the background flowers.

I have yet to applique the hexi's onto the background fabrics. But I have a design to use my stash of hexi flowers and to make a bed quilt.

Slow Stitching #53

Here is my third EPP block for month 6 (February 2017) of Round We Go block of the month from Sue Daley Designs using In The Beginning Garden Delights fabric line.

With all the snow storms in the Boston area in March, I managed to get far behind in my quilting. Many storms, and my power was out 3 times in 1 week for the better part of a day or night each time. Many of the tree limbs broke from the weight of the wet snow and the high winds.  In this photo you can see the roof of my 2 story house and how the tree limbs are bend over or broken off.

But the spring flowers are starting to grow again:

And I have managed to make more hexi flowers. These are 6 - 5/8" hexi flowers:

And these 3 are 7/8" hexi flowers.
